People with diabetes are prone to a variety of types of eye complications. Although double vision (in someone with diabetes) can be an alarming and downright scary symptom, in fact it is usually not serious and goes away on its own within a few months. The most common cause is injury to a nerve that controls a muscle that moves the eye. The medical term is a 'cranial nerve palsy.'
