The case of the peculiar penis - solution
The answer: choice number "4." Bob's penis reminded him of a hockey stick.
Just because someone has diabetes does NOT mean that one should attribute every problem that comes up to the diabetes. People with diabetes can run into the same problems as everyone else also. (Just like Henry Kissinger's famous quote: "Even paranoids have enemies").
In Bob's case, the problem was not that his penis couldn't get erect, the problem was that his penis was curved...just like a hockey stick. He had what is called Peyronie's disease.
The moral of the story...if you have diabetes and some new problem comes up, you and your health care providers must always be open-minded about the possibility that a non-diabetes cause is potentially responsible. This applies to issues as diverse as visual blurring, diarrhea or, as in this case, erectile dysfunction.
By the way, this is the format I use (without the graphics, mind you) in my book (What Your Doctor Really Thinks).
