Please imagine (it would take too long to load a sound file) an introductory drum roll...

The answer is choice number 4. "You are pleased to hear the good news."

Surprised? Okay, I hear some yes's and some no's. (I've got a good imagination).

If someone has had very poor blood sugars and their sugars are then brought rapidly down to normal, it changes the way the light bends through the lens of the eye. And that causes blurred vision. This corrects over a few weeks. So Mr. Smith's suddenly blurred vision is a good sign...it means his sugars are on they way down.

Incidentally, don't waste your money on expensive prescription glasses the day you get diagnosed as having diabetes. Buy some cheap pair off the shelf for a few bucks. Once your sugars have been stable for a few weeks, then it may be time to invest in some more expensive glasses.

By the way, this is the format I use in my book (What Your Doctor Really Thinks).

Oh, and as much as I hate to have to say it, when looking at advice I give in the "case of the month" or anywhere else on this site, please bear in mind my disclaimer.
